1. Mediations are binding. 2. You’ll need to “paper” the case yourself; mediators typically do not do this act. 3. Research the law and talk to a lawyer. 4. Mediator is not your lawyer; even if they are a licensed attorney. 5. Mediation should be safe and have no intimidation. 6. Mediation is an alternative to court, but is not therapy, although allows for limited “venting.”
