Truancy Mediation – What’s That With Guest Danette Ross Watson
Danette Ross Watson of West Texas Community Mediation Center in Big Spring, TX, joined Fran Brochstein of Familylaw4u.com, and Mac and Natalia of OPLawyers.org and InstantMediations.com, to discuss school truancy mediation.
When a child is absent from school too often, that child will suffer academically in ways that hurt their educational opportunities for life. In many public school settings, the way to deal with school truancy is to fine the parents and take the parent/child to court. Schools can benefit from in-house or private mediators mediating the issue of truancy between the child and the school in ways that promote student attendance and reduce costs to the taxpayer.
